Youth Facilities

The development of facilities for young people in the Dawlish area is championed by Dawlish Action For Youth and the Devon County Youth Service. Dawlish Community Trust supported the proposals to install a Skate Park at Sandy Lane and to develop plans for a Youth Centre on an adjacent site. These were given a high priority from the public consultations in 2004. The Trust encouraged its contacts to support the Skate Park by the telephone 'phone-in' in the bid for the People's Millions on TV, which brought success to Dawlish. The Skate Park was completed and opened in May 2009.

The Youth Centre is currently under construction and Dawlish Community Trust is combining with others to develop an adult education training programme that will be on offer on the completion of the Youth Centre in Summer 2010.
